What information do we hold?
Registration to the BON is via our administration team and is currently restricted to members of the Birmingham Orthopaedic Training Programme and specific associates. The data held is limited to names and email addresses for the sole purpose of providing access to the specific areas of the site for the purposes of research, audit, education and training.
Subscribers to our newsletters are entirely voluntary, are subject to approval, and limited data is held to ensure communications are made accurately and appropriately.
How we keep your information confidential?
Information given above will only be used for the purposes stated above unless there are other circumstances covered by the law. All records are stored in secure environments with access strictly controlled.
How we use your personal information, and do we ever share it?
We do not use the information for any other purpose than otherwise stated and will not share the information with any third parties unless there are other circumstances covered by the law. We do utilise third party software and applications to facilitate our website and other online activities but these suppliers do not access data
Your right to object to recording or sharing information
If you feel that you are being asked for information you would prefer not to have recorded, or have concerns about how it is used or shared, please let us know.  You have the right to be forgotten.  If you think any information we hold about you is inaccurate please let us know.
How you can access your records
The Data Protection Act 1998 and the new General Data Protection Regulation (due May 2018) gives you a right to access the information we hold about you.  Please contact  admin@bon.ac.uk
How long do we retain your records?
For as long as you are a member of the BOTP or associate with the programme, or for as long you maintain subscription to our newsletters (which you are able to unsubscribe from at any time).
